Our (Misplaced) Father

In a store display, there's an often misplaced band in every shelf. For a long time, Extreme was that band; band based in boston... (un)fortunately, they released More Than Words as their first single (on their second album)... for this, they were labelled as a mellow hard rock band, shelved in the "hard rock ballads" section.

The association of (portuguese guitarist) Nuno Bettencourt and (american vocalist) Gary Cherone produced quite a few gems throughout the band career together, but there will be few who can name a better conceived album than "III Sides To Every Story", their third album.

It's brilliant, from top to bottom.
Here goes an example. Almost randomly picked...

"Oh Daddy please,
take me with you
where you going
Oh Daddy please,
come find the time,
come watch us growing
Oh Daddy please,
don't leave there's so
much that we want to
know before you go

I'm in need of someone
to tie my shoe,
or take hold of my hand
when I become afraid
And whose footsteps
will I follow into,
Daddy please,
don't run away

Our Father, far father
Well, let me tell you about
Our Father, far father away...

Oh Daddy please,
I pray every night
the doors will open
Oh Daddy please,
this house is just
a broken home,
left all alone
"

The boy then the man (pt.4)

Both boy and man are leaving...

Recurrent dreams wander their/his mind as the car door closes. The GPS device is on, but it should take about a minute before it syncs. The PDA is on the dashboard, waiting for the connection. The car charger is empty, but will be used soon.

Both boy and man are wandering... step by step, time after time, moving away, becoming one but not the same.

A step forward...

"Sometimes, we have to take a step forward.
It always takes some time
".

Well, I can add some points to this sentence that wander my mind in this special day.

How should one feel one he/she realizes that sometimes a step back is necessary in order to be possible to take two steps forward ?... It is not so rare to find one self in that situation. And that is also a step forward.

It is very difficult to take a step (or leap) forward through adversity or ignorance. Meaning what ?!... How many times does a teenager prefer to stay in doubt (not aware of what the truth or reality is) afraid of being consider uncool ?! Didn't we all feel this in our youth ?... This (reminding me of "The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole") must have happened to everyone.

How can we ease the steps taken forward by others ?
That, I would really love to know. I think I know the recipe (building confidence, trust, etc.) but it's a fact that it's different for each and every one of us.

Another step tomorrow.
I'll be bringing the past back again.

The boy then the man (pt.3)

The boy knows every birthdate.
He should know better. She is his mother.

The man also knows.
One should know. She is all. And his mother too.

A man (locked) in the world

What can one do when he/she's locked ?
How does one feel being a prisioner ?

Fortunately, most of us (western civilization persons/peoples) are free, only prisoners inside fortresses imposed by our own mind limitations. You may have heard about the seven sins, this is vaguely the same.

But, how about people in prison ?
How about handicapped people (imprisioned in their own bodies) like tetraplegic or people with sclerosis, hemophilia, diabetes, and so on ?...

Yesterday, I leaned a lot about it.
About physical imprisonment.

And I'm willing to learn more. And more.
But more... I've since learned that someone does not want my presence there. What ?!!! Have we grown yet ?...
