Globalisation (pt.3)

After writting the first words of this thred of globalisation articles (despite knowing I just have seen the tip of the iceberg) I just realised I can do something other than writting words.

And words alone are something.
They're not much, but something.

Globalisation (pt.2)

Someone asked "how is the violence you mentioned generated?" to what I had to answer "how could it not be? and pointed at the shape of a Coke bottle. Boy, do we love the taste of a chilled glass of Coca Cola, while we watch the NBA Playoffs on cable television... I do too !

We simply neglect (this, to say the very least) the fact that one glass of our favourite brand drink has the same value of the food that would be enough for a grown man in a whole week. I'm not saying in tribal Africa, Asia or South America, but yes, anywhere in the world.

Just compare the price of a "nice cold one" when you're dining out to 20 slices of your favourite bread (and a little butter, for example).

Need I say more ?!

Globalisation (pt.1)

Fact: I'm for globalisation.
Fact: I'm against the effects it has had.

I do think (and feel) that globalisation has provided the world inhabitants with several new tools that will benefit their lives, regardless of their current geographical position. Global access to services and information is something we rely on nowadays and the word "internet" is the one word we depend on achieving those goals we set.

But there's a counterpart...

In order to achieve anything, one must have access to an education, be healthy and have enough money to have a computer with internet access. And less than 3% of the world's population has access to those three (so-called) basic rules. But more...

The violence generated to earn that place in the "crème de la crème" is perpetrated via globalisation. Oh yes !!!

The globalisation we learned to love allowed us to travel the five continents, to watch the sun rise from the sea and set at sea, to buy a new car, to have 2~3 laptops, 2~3 PDA, 2~3 television sets... but it also caused death, destruction, war.

(I'm still not talking oil issues)

I'll elaborate more on this tomorrow.
I'm embarassed already.

Onslaught

I heard the onslaught is happening.
Who's next ?

Actually, this happened where it shouldn't. Where things must happen naturally, towards a common goal, without casualties of war, personal war. But it happens.

But people are greedy.

And as soon as they have some power (or access to some power or mean of influence), their claws come out and they reveal themselves, the coward predators they tryle are. Out of the shadows, smiling and laughing, protected by an invisible force... somewhat like jackyls, or better, hienas.

Once... meaning unique !

A true frienship is unique.
Love is unique, in a different dimension.

"Once embraced, can't ever be let go
Once revealed, can't ever be not shown
Once believed, can't ever lose faith
Once shared, can't ever be separate
Once sown, once can't ever be not reaped

Like the dawn of a brand new day
With the power of deity
Well, I can feel it inside of me
Feel it, can you feel it?

Once born, can't ever be not conceived
Once present, can't ever be past
Once first, once can't ever be not everlast

Returning home of the prodigal
Holding the intangible
To believe in a miracle
Believe it, can you believe it?

Have you ever been touched?
Once whoa, really touched?
Could it ever be too much?
Whoa-oh-oh, can you tell me?

Once seen, can't ever lose sight
Once dawn, can't ever be not light
Once, once felt, once felt
Can't ever be untouched

The assurance only hope can bring
With the conviction of the unseen
See it's greater than everything
See it, oh can you see it?

Have you ever been touched?
Once whoa-oh really, really touched?
Could it ever be too much?
Whoa-ooh-oh oh, can you tell me?
Have you ever really touched love once?

Oh! Have you ever been touched?
Once whoa-oh-oh really touched?
Could it ever be too much?
I don't know. Did you tell me?
Have you ever really touched
Once. Whoa-oh really, really touched?

Could it ever be too much?
Oh-ooh somebody tell me
Have you ever really touched
Love once?

Ah, have you ever really touched
Love once?
Have you ever really touched love
Touched love?
Woooo-ooooo, woooo-ooooo
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Wooo-oooo, wooo-oooo
Wooo-oooo-oooo
Oh, love once. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Homesick

It's still morning and I'm homesick already. I woke up late and wanted the stay in bed for another two hours, which is rare... and dragged myself to the shower where I spent 5 minutes as I was already late. Flew down the stairs and didn't even had a bite or anything... said bye-bye to the dogs and jumped in the car. There are so many people on vacations that it only took me 20 minutes to arrive to work. Yet another reason to feel homesick... everyone's at home, but me.

"Homesick is a present word,
I'm not home nor I'm sick,
But I long to be home,
Home is where I want to be.
Today alone,
Tonight with you.

The truth is a mighty sword,
It tears all in its way.
I no longer want to know
Words you may have to say.
Now, enjoy the silence,
Hear me pray.

I lower my voice, I'm quiet
As I want to hear you say:
'I need you here...
I need you to stay !'
Yet the silence
Drives me away.

Homesick, a simple feeling.
What have this come to ?
An introspection thing,
And undisputed truth.
We can be one,
Us two.

A day to remember... and think about...

Some 2010 years ago, a child was born.
About 33 years later, it was clear he was more than a man.
