Globalisation (pt.1)

Fact: I'm for globalisation.
Fact: I'm against the effects it has had.

I do think (and feel) that globalisation has provided the world inhabitants with several new tools that will benefit their lives, regardless of their current geographical position. Global access to services and information is something we rely on nowadays and the word "internet" is the one word we depend on achieving those goals we set.

But there's a counterpart...

In order to achieve anything, one must have access to an education, be healthy and have enough money to have a computer with internet access. And less than 3% of the world's population has access to those three (so-called) basic rules. But more...

The violence generated to earn that place in the "crème de la crème" is perpetrated via globalisation. Oh yes !!!

The globalisation we learned to love allowed us to travel the five continents, to watch the sun rise from the sea and set at sea, to buy a new car, to have 2~3 laptops, 2~3 PDA, 2~3 television sets... but it also caused death, destruction, war.

(I'm still not talking oil issues)

I'll elaborate more on this tomorrow.
I'm embarassed already.
