All the different people are the same

In my late teens and early twenties (not so long ago), guys and gals would strive to be accepted... and would go 'round the moon to do so. Some of us still do it, regardless of age.

And then, there were some few that had their own style, their particular personality, peculiar tastes and habits... very original, it seemed.

There were also those who made their life a quest to be different, unique. All dressed in black, an earring in a (really) strange place, a tattoo in the making, an awkward friend that never spoke... these were possible ingredients to the improbable character.

But then, there was light made !

All of the different people were the same.
They were doing the same thing: asking for acceptance in terms of style, posture, attitude.

Once that was acknowledged, the path was easy: one must follow life being aware of social conventions and consciously embracing some, accepting others, rejecting some others, yet never neglecting them, as we, as human beings (or humans being, as Van Halen wrote), are most definately social animals.

And we’re all different.
Only sometimes we have the need to feel the same.

I'll ellaborate on this.

"We must be aware... us... you... me...
As it's costing us...

After becoming more than irrational animals
We rationally decide irrationally
We develop certain skills, mainly theatrical
We choose what others will see
We neglect what we want to be

And after having ballooned to oversized pandas
We starved half the planet
We are the better half, the one who handles…
We provide food, especially non-fat
We’ll keep it this way, no regrets

After centuries of learning and reasoning
We simply failed to take notice
We must be more than just lemmings breeding
We may be the blue lotus
(If) we simply change the focus

We're in time... we hope.
"
